Initial Appointment

Our services are highly customized, but here’s a brief overview of what to expect when booking a Kitchen Garden consultation.

Each project begins with a 15-minute discovery call to talk through the process, your initial goals, and next steps, and to confirm alignment before scheduling an on-site visit.

Initial Appointment Scheduling

An invoice is sent prior to your on-site consultation. Consultation fees start at $300, with final pricing based on project scope and location. Travel fees and extended visit charges may apply. This fee is non-refundable.

Before your visit, you’ll receive a short questionnaire focused on your goals around growing, seasonal eating, and how you’d like your garden to support your daily life. This helps Katie come prepared to lead a thoughtful, productive conversation tailored to you.

The on-site consultation begins with a site walk to observe the property and identify potential garden locations. Preliminary measurements are taken, and we then talk through priorities, maintenance expectations, material preferences, water access, and how those elements come together to shape a functional kitchen garden. Individual project elements and scope are defined to guide the design phase. This visit typically lasts approximately one hour.

Design Stage

After the initial consultation, the design stage includes three Following the on-site consultation, the design phase begins.

A kitchen garden design is developed based on site capabilities and client goals. This is presented as a 2D drawing, accompanied by a recorded video walkthrough that explains layout, flow, and key design considerations.

A scheduled phone appointment allows us to review the design, address questions, and confirm direction. If a 3D conceptual drawing is needed to better visualize the space, it can be provided for an additional fee.

This phase may take two to eight weeks, depending on the season and scale of the project.

Any design changes beyond the agreed scope are billed at an hourly rate.

Once the design direction is confirmed, we move forward with a proposal and estimate outlining the next steps.
