The Hawks Garden

The Hawks Garden brings everything these clients need to grow, harvest, and enjoy their garden into one thoughtfully designed space. Two 4-by-12-foot cedar raised beds provide plenty of room for their favorite vegetables and herbs, surrounded by the features that make spending time in the garden easy and enjoyable.

Enclosed by a fence and entered through a garden gate, the entire space was planned around how the clients would actually use it. A built-in water spigot makes it easy to rinse freshly harvested vegetables right in the garden, nearby storage keeps supplies close at hand, and a dedicated sitting area gives them a place to enjoy the space even when there is nothing on the day's garden to-do list.

A custom arch trellis adds vertical growing space and creates a focal point between the two raised beds. The cedar itself was finished with Real Milk Paint Defense Oil, enriching the natural color of the wood while adding another layer of protection from the elements.

The result is a right-sized garden where every detail has a purpose and everything they need is within reach. It has quickly become part of their everyday routine, with fresh-picked salads on the menu daily and Sungold tomatoes so sweet they rarely make it out of the garden before becoming an afternoon snack.
